Community directory

ECA is one part of a much bigger community. These are the other organisations, programs and businesses worth knowing about — none of them run by us.

Organisation

Other associations, groups and networks serving Eritrean-Australians.

  • Rabita Centre Australia

    Western suburbs, Melbourne

An Eritrean organisation in Melbourne's western suburbs, which built and runs a mosque serving the community.

    More detail

Needs confirming before launch. The details on this entry came from a conversation, not from the organisation. Check the spelling of the name, the address, and how they would like to be contacted and described — then delete this note. Ask them before publishing a phone number or email.

Rabita Centre Australia built and runs a mosque in Melbourne’s western suburbs, serving Eritrean Muslim families and the wider community around it.

They are independent of ECA. We work alongside them on community occasions rather than running anything jointly.

    Getting something on air

If you have an announcement for the community — a death notice, an event, a change to a service — contact the program directly rather than through ECA. The station number is 03 9419 8377, and 3CR’s talkback line during broadcast is 03 9419 0155.

Radio still reaches people that social media does not, particularly elders and anyone who reads little English. It is often the fastest way to reach the whole community at once.

Business

Eritrean-owned businesses around Melbourne and beyond.

We are collecting these. If you run an Eritrean-owned business, or there is one you rely on, let us know and we will add it.

Know something that should be here?

An organisation, a radio program, a business, a service — if it serves the Eritrean community in Australia, tell us and we will look at adding it. This directory is only as good as what people send us.

    A note on what's listed

None of these are run by ECA, and listing here is not an endorsement — it is a signpost. We list things the community uses and asks about.

If your organisation is listed and you would like the details changed or the entry removed, email us and we will action it.
